If you want Wi-Fi directly under Windows 8 in the Virtual Machine itself then you need to provide your own USB WiFi Network Adapter and connect it directly the the Virtual Machine as VMware only presents Wired Ethernet to the Guests.  (Have a look at, Virtual Machine Features and Specifications.)  Also you cannot attach the Host's built-in Wi-Fi Network adapter to the Virtual Machine although the Virtual Network Adapter can be bound directly to it in the Virtual Network Editor by disabling automatic bridging and selecting it over the Host's Wired Ethernet if both are active.

Otherwise as far as Networking goes you need to read Chapter 5 "Configuring Network Connections" in Using VMware Workstation (PDF) so as to have a better understanding of the VMware Virtual Network Infrastructure.

Also have a look at: Understanding networking types in hosted products (1006480)

As far as imaging the OEM install to a VM this is not allow by its EULA and you'll need to purchase a Retail copy or an OEM System Builders copy and make use of the Personal Use License.  Additionally many OEM builds check to be sure it's being run on OEM hardware and a Virtual Machine hardware will not match the Toshiba Satellite S855D OEM hardware and that is why restoring the Recovery Disc/Image to a Virtual Machine fails!
